Services

We offer a wide variety of services for your dogs and cats!  Be sure to contact us with any questions.

Wellness Exams

At least once a year, your pet should have a complete physical exam. Many health problems can be detected early and allow for prompt treatment. As your pet ages, additional testing may be recommended to ensure a happy and healthy life for your pet.

Puppy/Kitten Care

After acquiring a new pet, an exam should be scheduled with a veterinarian within a few days. The pet will be checked to see if it is healthy. Vaccination and worming programs will be discussed. Advice on training, nutrition and disease prevention will also be offered.

Vaccinations

Numerous vaccines are available to help maintain the health of your pet. A vaccine protocol can be individually developed for your pet, depending on your pet's life style.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves to penetrate the body giving us real-time images of the internal organs. It can give us additional information helpful for diagnosis.  We have an in-house ultrasound machine along with a specialist, who comes to the hospital to perform more in depth ultrasounds.

Dental Care

It is important to maintain clean and healthy teeth in your pet. Daily brushing is ideal. When problems arise, we are equipped to offer dental cleaning under anesthesia

Micro-Chipping

A microchip is a tiny device that is inserted under the skin between the shoulder blades. It can be done at the time of any vaccination or while under anesthesia for a procedure. It's individual number is then registered nationally. If your pet is lost, the chip can be read by vet clinics, shelters and humane societies so that you can be reunited with your pet.

Digital Radiology

X-rays can be an important part of assessing both medical and surgical problems. Our staff is trained to obtain clear, high quality digital images to aid in the diagnostic process.

Surgery

Our hospital is well-equipped to provide routine spaying and neutering of your pet, as well as other soft tissue surgeries, laparoscopic procedures, and some orthopedics. We do routine pre-anesthetic bloodwork to ensure your pet is healthy enough to undergo the procedure. During the procedure, your pet is monitored with a variety of devices measuring blood pressure, respiratory and cardiac parameters.  Pain management is an important aspect of aftercare and is tailored to each individual pet.

OFA X-ray Certification

Dr. Siegel has advanced training in performing and reading OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) radiographs.  Unlike most veterinary clinics, we can perform these radiographs without anesthesia, and rarely require any sedation at all.  Clients drive from all over the country for this service.  OFA services include radiographs for hips, elbows, shoulders, and spine, along with OFA bloodwork screening for thyroid disease.

Senior Pet Care

Our pets are living longer, healthier lives. As a pet ages, there are changes in diet, blood tests for common geriatric diseases and arthritic changes that can be addressed. Keeping an older pet active and comfortable is a priority for our staff.

Emergency Services

We welcome emergency appointments during our regular business hours and will fit in emergent cases as well as we can. We direct emergencies after-hours to one of the animal ER clinics in Madison: Veterinary Emergency Services, Madison Veterinary Specialists, or UW Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
